For my last Comm-Tech class, a majority of my projects were animations.

The goal for this project was to collaborate with another animator to create 2 animations. These animations were a ball with a tail moving from one point to another, and a character animaion reacting to a bug enting the scene. The animations were done completely in Adobe Animate. My role was to animate half of the ball bouncing animation, aswell as sketch and line the character animation. I also did some of the colouring. I worked with a classmate for this project, He animated half of the ball bouncing and a butterfly for the character animation. he also helped colour the character animation. He was also a valuable creative mind, creating the design for the character and planning what happens in the animation. A major challenge during this project was the time crunch. I feel the animation came out rushed and messy, even if im proud of it. I wish there couldve been more time to clean it up more. I'm most proud of the movement I did with the character animation.
Scotland is an animation of Warrior Cats OC's. It's a short video focusing on the formation of the Gods and Anti-Gods of the world, showing the history of Floodclans Anti-God. Runningfire was born to Floodclan in the era of enlightenment for the clans, the era of the creation of the Gods. During her formative years, Runningfire witnesses the cruelty of nature as a particularly bad storm causes their territory to flood. In this flood, Runningfire loses numerous clanmates, one being her few moons old sister. This loss and tragedy creates a distain for the Gods in her mind. She travels to the temple of the Floodclan God to confront him. During this confrontation she kills the spirit of an ancient twoleg, becoming Floodclans anti-God in the process. A challenge I faced with this animation was motivation. I was in a creative rut during the making of this animation, and felt like I was only making things because I had to and not because I wanted to, even if the project was about a topic or story I wanted to explore. I think the lack of motivation is visible in the quality of the work. Animation is limited and movement is choppy in some places. Anatomy is off and the linework/colouring is sketchy. Somethings I'm proud of are Runningfires character design, which was created during the making of this project. Runningfires design is based off of a fire-bellied snake, as all the Gods/Anti's designs are inspired heavily by various animals. For instance Foodclans God is based on a poison dart frog. The reason a fire-bellied snake was chosen is it's one of a dart frogs predators, another theme among the Gods/Anti's.
Needed More is an especially short animated project, set in the same world as Scotland and roughly the same time. The animation depicts the relationship between Stoneclans God and Anti-God and how it changed due to changes in responsibilities and lives. The characters are un-named so they'll be referred to as Bat and Owl respectively. Bat and Owl were in a romantic relationship and were very close before Bat was aware of his destiny to become a God of the clans. After Bat is sent on his journey and learns his fate, he feels he can't be with Owl anymore. He doesn't want to form emotional connections to mortal cats after becoming a God in an attempt to avoid the pain of loss that comes with the death of mortal beings. Owl is reasonable hurt by this, he loves Bat heavily and can't stand to be pushed away. The animation focuses on the emotional state of Owl during this time and how he feels about Bats leaving. Due to procrastination on my part from my lack of motivation, time was a struggle for this project. I had a little less than a week to finish this animation after Scotland before needing to begin work for my culminating. Hence the short length of the animation. I am particularly proud of the animation of the wind movement, aswell as the bat flying.
My culminating project is a collection of short animations of various things, edited together and set to Jack Staubers Leopard. The animation in order are of: Garfield/what the internet did to Garfield, I Saw the TV Glow, Night in the Woods, silly animation of my pet rats, dance loop practice, dance loop of pet rats, a random unplanned animation of various shapes and random dripping character, birds, sketchy dance, Warrior cats OC's, Menagerie game series I: Exoptable Money and II: Presentable Liberty, Bojack Horseman don't stop dancing original and renewal, Undertale AU OC's, doodles, and album covers from the musciain known as Femtanyl. The end credits animation was taken from a scrapped idea for my culminating. I struggled with what exactly I wanted to do for my culminating, flipping through a couple ideas before settling on what I did. My first idea was to make 4 short animations expanding on the world of the Gods from my warriors OC's but felt too burnt out to do much with the idea, I then thought to create an animation as a remembrance to an old friend who isn't in my life anymore. I storyboarded this idea, this is where the end credits animation comes from. But I still had no motivation to work on anything and had to figure out what specifically I was drained from. I decided I needed a break from planned animations and had to animate in the way I do for fun. No plan, just animating short shots of whatever came to mind or whatever I could make from the moving shapes placed on screen. I enjoyed this process a lot more than other animations I've done for class because it allowed me to just have fun with what I was doing without thinking to much. It allowed me to animate various things aswell, instead of focusing on one interest I could animate multiple forms of media and animals I enjoy. There are some shots that are still in progress, being sketchy and unfinished. Ideally I wanted to finish these shots further, but since it took me a while to figure out quite what to do I ran out of time. I also originally planed to have more shots done but again couldn't due to time restraints.
